The Essex Club- New Jersey Historical Society

The Essex Club is a 1920's era former Men's Club which has been acquired by the New Jersey Historical Society as its new headquarters. The building is approximately 35,000 sf on six levels. The bulk of the existing systems date back to the original construction. New central systems have been installed, including museum level temperature/humidity control for exhibition galleries and collections storage, high-efficiency particulate and gaseous absorption filters; gallery lighting systems and complete fire suppression. The systems are designed to be sympathetic to the historic character of the structure.
